My passion for flowers
Growing flowers and vegetables and fruits became my passion after the death of my husband in 2013. Reinventing myself through creating oils, I started to learn perfume making and decided to make my own perfumes and mists using my flowers and plants has been a way of dealing with the grief of losing my husband.
I love to help people who are sensitive to strong perfumes or who are looking for milder and more natural and organic fragrances.
I gain purpose and meaning from creating fragrances from my own garden.
My passion is now a business
I have been creating my own fragrances since September 2016. This grew out of my search to find new uses for the flowers and plants that I am growing in my garden. I needed to explore new practices and find a new creative outlet in perfume making for me (new to me, but an ancient industry going back thousands of years).
I am happy to be sharing my love of plants and fragrances with all my clients.

Recent developments
Last week I was nominated as a Creative Business in the Women's Business Awards Club. You can access a Voting Form to support this business or nominate other Women in Business for this Award. The Ceremony will be on the 6th of December 2023 for Australian Women Business Awards.

In the year 2022, I came across The Perfume Foundation (IPF) - International and became interested in their Vision and Mission. I found it very exciting to be able to be part of The Perfume Foundation (IPF) - International which is working on regulating Natural Perfumery and providing great Education to current and future perfumers. The career paths for a perfumer have expanded in a very interesting way and there is so much to learn and apply. It is exciting!!

Starting my Certifications in Natural Perfumery through IPF
Year 2023 started my Certification in Olfaction Training through the International Perfume Foundation. The importance of the Sense of Smell is paramount for our health and safety, aside of being an instrument in our appreciation of scents and selection of raw materials for the creation of perfumes. The knowledge of Raw Materials and their scent can give us information of the healing power of scents and the precautions we need to have in the use of scents. Natural Perfumery is very linked to Aromatherapy. Synthetic Fragrances might appeal to us for their use in creating abstract and original fragrances, but there is no therapeutic power associated to these fragrances. The International Perfume Foundation's Vision is to preserve the Heritage of the Perfume History and Culture by taking care of Raw Materials in a sustainable way and the ethical practices in developing Natural Perfumes that will contribute positively to our wellness and health, not just as a beautiful scent accessories, but a conduit to healing, peace and harmony and joy in our life.
French Natural Perfumery Certification through IPF
Also, I have been studying the very comprehensive course in French Natural Perfumery through the International Perfume Foundation. Learning houw to use our sense of Smell, Olfaction, will help us to understand the origin, characteristics of each raw material in their original presentation and as Essential Oil or Absolute. I learnt all about each raw material or ingredient in terms of their characteristics, scent profile, blend with other raw materials, country of origin, categorisation by notes and accords. I also enjoyed the History of Perfume and French Perfumery History and some incredible recipes.
Natural Aromatherapy Certification through IPF
In 2024, I have continued my journey now into Natural Aromatherapy. A discipline that is focused on the healing properties of the natural raw materials: flower, plant, leaf, twigs, branch, bark, seeds, acorns, roots, wood, resin. It is important to learn which raw material to use for specific ailment, illness or condition. It is also recommended to refer to General Practitioners to check for any allergen, incompatibility with medicines or any other side-effect.
